Farmnet is an agricultural operator with nearly 20 years of experience in the production of certified seeds, cereals and technical plants, in one of the most fertile areas of the country - Ialomita County, in Tandarei. Since its emergence (in 2001), the company has been geared towards the development of performance farming, investing constantly in equipping with the full range of necessary machinery, new machines that have increased the efficiency of operation. The investments also went to the construction of storage facilities at international standards, reaching a capacity of 11,500 tons (among the largest authorized facilities in the county) in 2018. This allows better use of production throughout the year, both on the domestic market and on external markets. In addition to intensive farming, Farmnet also sought to develop niche areas, following the current market trend, which is increasingly focusing on organic farming. For this purpose, it produces a sea-buckthorn certified organic, national and international (Austrian Bio Garantie) on an area of 16 hectares. The company relies on this growth opportunity, so in 2015 it decided to partner with other producers, forming the Biocatina Agricultural Cooperative. With the facilities made available for storage and drying, the company contributes to the success of the cooperative, whose production is exported to Europe, especially in the Nordic countries, and in the Middle East. Farmnet's development plans are aligned with those of the cooperative by developing the production chain - investing in raw material processing facilities and under own branding to increase value added. For the next year, the company plans to purchase a press for the production of sea buckthorn oil and other derivatives, contributing to the diversification of the cooperative's domestic and external offer.
